January 3rd, 2009 Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

holiday-card-web_header

The good man over Arlo (@arlodesign), over @ Arlodesigns posted a HIGH-LAR-IOUS x-mas card he created for his own family. I absolutely love the design of this card, and the fact that it’s listed as a boxing card, and has both Mr. & Mrs. wearing boxing gloves ready to go, really shows that they had a fun time doing it.

I definitely will look out for next year’s cards and any of those in between. In the mean time, click the jump for the full-view!

The Spirit Poster

Over at the Italian Spirit Blog, They have posted 20 student designed posters for the yet-to-be-released movie. And if I know anything about design or cool (that is subject to debate) I know that these are some AWESOME posters. For some reason they remind of a bit like Saul Bash. Perhaps it’s the handmade quality.

Couple more photos after the jump!

Guess Who’s on Twitter & Facebook!

December 17th, 2008 Posted in Uncategorized | 2 Comments »

twitter-wallpaper2

We’ll society has broken me down.  I’ve finally given in and decided to jump into this massive pool of social networking called Twitter & Facebook.  After attending a networking event hosted by the SoCal Action Sports group, focusing on social networking with speaker Mari Smith, I realized how powerful social networking has become for reasons OTHER than throwing cupcakes, posting bulletins and taking meaningless surveys. The following stat literally made my head explode:

“Twitter has exploded in growth boasting 400% membership increases over the past months with 23,000 new members in one week alone. Facebook has grown at a rate of 4 twitters.”

Knowing the opportunity to meet new potential clients and people of like mind was sitting there costing me 0 dollars (unless u count potential dollars I’ve missed out on for being a dumbass), I had to jump at the opportunity. And I strongly recommend you do as well!

Video of the Day: Ken Robinson on Education & Creativity

December 7th, 2008 Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

ted

Steve over at OCBizblog.com just Tweated on Twitter about this great video shot back in 2006. Sir Ken Robinson speaks on how today’s educational system around the globe is preparing us for a future that is not even conceivable. Even in today’s standards, the educational system places a minimal emphasis on creativity.

We don’t grow into creativity….we grow out of it. Actually, we are educated out of it…

Reflective awesomeness

December 6th, 2008 Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Reflections

Smashing Magazine has yet again, posted some really wicked photography work that really just shames everyone else into submission. Photos like the one above, were some examples focusing on reflections. And much like my own reflection, these look terrific. They add such a dramatic scale to the photos making them seem surreal.

The power of social networks for businesses: Mari Smith

December 5th, 2008 Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Mari Smith

So I myself attending a networking event sponsored by the Action Sports Group through Linkedin. The focus aside from networking, was to learn more about the power of social networks, specifically facebook and twitter to enhance a company’s web presence, reach massive amounts of potential customers, and build brand awareness among other things.

The speaker Mari Smith, proceeded to give an hour long, eye-opening presentation about the untapped potential available to us through these FREE marketing mediums. Facebook has transformed into much more than a social chatplace but a marketing platform availble to MILLIONS (500 million by 2011) people. Twitter has exploded (23K new members last week alone) showing a 400% growth a month.

Enough of me though. Visit Mari Smith’s website join facebook, twitter, u name it, and get out there! Speaking of twitter: @bigheadasian. Facebook: jmoorebrown.
